DonCarlos explains that it is not the credentials of man that make him fit for ministry, but his heart for God and his willingness to be used by God. DonCarlos married Salena in 2003 and has three beatiful children, Kristen, Cameron, and David. After marraige DonCarlos moved from the Bahamas to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue his ministry ambitions, distracted he pursued his acounting career and business opportunities.

DonCarlos attended church practically all his life, various denominations, but mostly non-denominational. After truly accepting Jesus The Christ as Lord and Savior on September 1, 1996, it was the battle between his desire to sin and his desire to serve the Lord in spirit and in truth that lead him to an encounter with God that would change his life forever. This encounter lead him to trust in God's grace and to pursue God as primary focus, not to allowing sin to derail him.

DonCarlos indicates that in 2010 during his quiet time, on the Sabbath day, that he received the vision for the Next Generation Bible Church. Not so much an age generation, but a church generation that had a heart for the things of God, a church generation lead by the Spirit of God, and a church generation filled with true worshipers. The vision kept on evolving so he stayed patient and allowed God to revealed His heart and His steps. Being obedient, DonCarlos gradually made efforts to leave behind career and business and He held the church's first worship service in his home in Stockbridge, Georgia on September 1, 2010.
